This is a brand new role, driven by a demand for an improvement in data quality, and a desire to establish ourselves as leaders on the Celonis platform. For the Celonis platform, you would be responsible for all back-end data engineering, and the extraction of value from the resulting output. As such experience on Celonis or with poor data quality is advantageous.
Pay, Benefits And Culture
Alongside a salary of circa £45,000 DOE, potential to earn 5% bonus, 28 days holiday plus bank holidays and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include a range of benefits, from the big and formal to the small and personal.
We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.
At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.
Here, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re on an action-oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.
We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.
We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Data Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:
Making decisions on how to approach data solutions with minimal guidance
Understanding the data vision set by the Data & Insight manager, ensuring that you develop data functionality that aligns to the wider vision
Developing code that is of a strong competency level, structured and optimised appropriately. Also, the ability to use low code solutions such as Alteryx were needed.
Ensuring that your development activities follow standards and best practices wherever possible, including data governance principles and data cataloguing
Recommended data modelling methodologies require adherence, and you will understand multiple methodologies in the data platform well enough to ensure that data capability follows agreed modelling practices
Ensure that data capabilities are secure and private by design
Implementing and establishing new software for maximum impact on the wider operation, specifically Celonis.
Actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement, both at the team level and across the organisation, through retrospectives, knowledge sharing, and coaching.
Be the guider of the teams existing Senior Analysts and Analysts, seeking to use data capabilities, setting up regular training sessions to upskill colleagues
Participating in training programs to develop and enhance your skills and knowledge
Our Tech Stack

Who You Are

You should have a strong grasp of data engineering best practices and standards, applying them to develop data functionality that serves both technical teams and end users. A passion for challenging the status quo and enhancing the accessibility and usability of the data platform for users of all technical levels is essential.
Proficiency in SQL is a must for building data pipelines and data stores, while Python knowledge would be a plus.
Strong communication skills are key, as you’ll need to effectively explain complex concepts and influence stakeholders at all levels. You should have experience in facilitating events, coaching teams in new practices, and fostering collaboration. Leading by example, you will help cultivate a positive team culture.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities are crucial, enabling you to navigate conflicts and remove obstacles to keep the team on track. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapting to shifting priorities and requirements with ease.
