We have a brilliant opportunity to join a constantly growing UK utilities company based in the South of England and across Scotland. This role is based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh depending on your location. As a UK Critical National Infrastructure provider, Information Security is an integral part of their business operation, so this role is critical to the business.
We are looking for a Cloud Security Engineer who will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all things security within the cloud estate with the main task at hand being a strong understanding of potential risks. This includes taking steps to prevent any security issues as well as providing strategy going forward, setting up solid security for the future. Due to an ongoing, 5 year long transformation of the company’s IT security, they are looking to build a new cyber security team which is being funded by OFGEM, so the opportunity to progress and develop within this role is huge.
We are looking for:
Experience of both AWS & Azure Cloud technologies
Familiarity with security tools such as Defender, Defender for Server and CNAP.
Good understanding and practical experience of Cyber Security Frameworks and standards such as NCSC security principles, NIST Framework, ISO 27001, ISO27005, IEC62443 etc.
Certifications – AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
Right to work in the UK - you must have lived in the UK for at least 5 years - you will be required to be Security Cleared.

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY As the Lead Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for the implementation, automation, and management of cloud services, ensuring the smooth transition of workloads from legacy systems to Oracle Cloud, Azure, and hybrid architectures. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining cloud environments, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. Your Role Will Involve Deploy and manage cloud services across Oracle Cloud, Azure, and hybrid environments, supporting the ERP modernisation programme. Expertise in Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), with hands-on experience in cloud deployment and operations. Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, ARM, Bicep, or CloudFormation. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc).
