Our insurance client is looking for a Head of Product to join them on a 6 month contract basis. You will set best practices when it comes to product selection, development, configuration and requirements gathering. This role is crucial for enabling the business and delivering a differentiated client and colleague experience.
Responsibilities:
Possesses comprehensive knowledge of the (re)insurance market and the products/platforms that are best suited for it in the digital age.
Develops and implements a playbook outlining best practices for your function to ensure high-quality requirements which can be delivered with confidence.
Responsible for mapping our user journeys to pinpoint potential opportunities for improvement in addition to user flows, process maps and use case diagrams.
Collaborates with the business and central functions to assess and prioritise high-value work, ensuring optimal colleague and client experiences.
Demonstrates deep expertise in agile methodologies, product management, and business analysis.
Will be willing to wear many hats including Product Owner and Business Analyst in addition to their primary responsibilities.
Embeds human-centred design methodologies.
Proven experience in delivering highly intuitive and modern user experiences (UX) across multiple form factors.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform product strategy and identify opportunities for innovation.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring alignment and effective communication across the organisation.
Drive the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to enhance product development processes and outcomes.
Experience Required:
Experience in business analysis, product management and agile.
Deep understanding of (re)insurance processes, systems, and technologies.
Currently in a hands-on product leadership role, responsible for capturing the needs of the business and translating them into well-defined product backlogs, including functional and non-functional requirements.
In-depth experience with backlog management tools like Monday, Azure DevOps and Jira.
Proven experience in delivering ambitious and realistic roadmaps.
Highly proficient in capturing the needs of the business and translating them into well-documented and broken-down user stories and process maps that can be delivered iteratively.
An appreciation for both business and technical requirements and the ability to bridge the gap between the two.
Full project life-cycle experience with demonstrable knowledge of different project life cycles, including waterfall, agile, and hybrid.
Strong awareness of competition and industry trends.
Extensive experience in managing business stakeholders and running workshops.
Outstanding analytical skills to solve complex problems.
Use your drive, creativity, and initiative to move those around you forward.
Desirable:
Experience working within a reinsurance broker.
Experience setting up and managing reinsurance broking platforms like Eclipse and/or OpenTwins.
Experience leading the rollout of ERP (Workday) and CRM (Dynamics 365 or Salesforce) solutions.
