We are currently looking for a Systems Engineer – Python to join our team in the Cardiff office.
You will be expected to attend the office 50% of the working week, to align with our hybrid working policy.

JOB PROFILE
Join our forward-thinking team as a Systems Engineer (Python) and work on pioneering projects within our Core Engineering team, primarily around Identity Resolution. Dive into a rich tech stack including AWS (Amazon Web Services) cloud infrastructure and become a key member of a team building the next generation platform supporting all Creditsafe products. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Contribute to the design, development and deployment of our cutting-edge Identity Resolution system solutions.
Contribute to the codebase and participate in code reviews with your peers.
Utilize Azure DevOps to support continuous integration and continuous delivery processes. This includes using Azure DevOps tools to manage code repositories, build, test, and deploy applications, and monitor system performance and issues.
Maintain exacting standards for software quality and work on continuous improvement of system design and architecture. Review code for potential improvements and collaborate with the team to implement changes.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving system failures or degradations. Work with other team members to identify root causes and implement long-term solutions
Analyse and understand data to suggest improvements to existing products.
The responsibilities detailed above are not exhaustive and you may be requested to take on additional responsibilities deemed as reasonable by their direct line manager.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Experience - essential
3+ year’s Python development experience within a commercial environment.
Ability to write clean, efficient code optimized for cloud performance.
Valuable experience with application development using AWS Services including S3, EC2, ECS, Lambda, Athena, Glue, API Gateway and OpenSearch.
Good understanding of GIT.
Collaborative and problem-solving mindset—enjoy working through technical challenges with your team.
Strong communication skills to share ideas and listen to feedback openly.
Preferred but not essential
Previous experience working within Identity Resolution
Knowledge of automated delivery processes, including Azure DevOps Pipelines.
Qualified to degree level in software engineering or equivalent.
Experience creating Terraform scripts for infrastructure provisioning and management
Working in distributed development teams.
