Mainframe Testing Engineer
6 month initial contract

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Testing Engineer to join are client in the finance sector. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in QA Testing Automation, REXX, JCL, and z/OS. You will be responsible for writing and executing test plans, developing automation, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the quality and efficiency of our mainframe systems.

Nice to Have:
Basic understanding of Ansible
Basic understanding of Batch Scheduling Software (e.g., IBM Z Workload Scheduler, CA7 Workload Automation, Control-M, ZEKE)
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute manual and automated test cases to ensure software quality.
Write test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures based on provided requirements and specifications.
Conduct workflow analysis and recommend improvements.
Collaborate with subject matter experts, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of test cases and test automation.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the testing process, aligning it with industry standards.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of experience in mainframe testing.
Strong proficiency in REXX and JCL programming.
Experience in application testing of closed-source products.
Knowledge of test automation tools, methodologies, and best practices.
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Working knowledge of Confluence and Jira.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to manage project responsibilities effectively.
Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
Experience or familiarity with the banking industry.
