Job Description
Over the past 12 months, TEKsystems Global Services have supported the Selection Catalogue ecosystem at our client as a managed services partner with practice support. Our 3 existing scrum teams have aligned with Our Client's core technical teams to support the Legacy migration of services to a new platform, which includes the deprecation of technologies such as Perl and re-writing services in newer technologies. After a successful initial engagement, we require an additional two engineers to join our 3 scrum teams to begin the next phase of our recently agreed extension. Starting in March, our teams will be aligned to 3 new Legacy migration projects following the core technical stack from last year with an additional need for some Python and other technical skills. Responsibilities
Collaborate with existing scrum teams to support Legacy migration of services to a new platform.
Rewrite services in updated technologies, including Python and other relevant tools.
Align with 3 new Legacy migration projects starting in March.
Support highly distributed systems in enterprise environments.
Adapt to team rotations to plug skill gaps as needed. Essential Skills
5+ years of experience with Java.
2+ years of experience with Python.
Experience with Spring.
Proficiency in SQL.
Experience with AWS. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with Perl.
Experience supporting highly distributed systems in enterprise environments.
Familiarity with CI/CD environments from a cloud environment (EC2, S3, etc.).
Computer Science Degree.

A major part of this role will be the new development, maintenance and upgrading of key products and software that are critical to both the company and industry. Platform solutions range from software monitoring and optimising the operations and performance of our existing power generation asset base, to tools modelling and driving the green transformation of our asset portfolio. Live projects include harnessing generative and agentic AI techniques to surface insight from our engineering systems and deliver a strong user experience for live applications, and bringing computer vision and augmented reality to how we support plant inspections and deliver services in industrial environments. As part of the placement, you’ll be working directly with software engineers, AI and ML engineers, UX and design architects and a vast array of technology and domain experts. Combined with getting a mentor and technical training, the placement will allow you to develop significantly over the course of your time with Uniper. There may also be the opportunity for international travel. Your profile To be a part of this area, you’ll need to be studying a Computer Science or closely related degree. You should have an understanding of working with web applications, full stack software engineering and agile development.
