On behalf of UKRI, we are looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer (Inside IR35) for a 12 Month contract based REMOTELY with occasional travel to Swindon and nationally.

The Organisation

UKRI will build on the successful elements from the current funding system and maximise the contribution of each of the component parts to create the best environment for research and innovation to flourish.

The business intelligence engineer will be responsible to develop and support reports and dashboards for critical business functions. The engineer is expected to have good proficiency with the tools / technology such as Power BI, SQL, DAX query, AWS Athena, Postgres DB, data modelling and incident management tools. The engineer is expected to have moderate proficiency with tool such as Github and Python.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

The business intelligence engineer will be a hands-on Power BI developer to develop and construct complete solution designs to complex reporting requirements across business verticals and data sources:

Power BI development

•Development and Maintenance of Power BI reports, dashboards, dataflows.

•Development and Maintenance of data models within Power BI and exposure to DAX query language.

•Knowledge of admin activity across Power BI tools such as access management, role-based data access, subscription, Power BI gateway set up etc.

•Experience migrating reports to Power BI dashboards from Jaspersoft

SQL Proficiency

•Development and Maintenance of SQL development with backend engine such as Postgres RDS, MySQL and AWS Athena

•Experience migrating queries from MySQL and Postgres to AWS Athena

Collaboration

•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to participate in requirement gathering and creating user stories.

To Achieve this, you will have the following skills:

•Comfortable working in an Agile rapidly changing environment

•You will be an accomplished developer, with excellent Power BI and SQL skills.

•Experience working with AWS Athena, Postgres, MySQL and Power BI.

•Experience working with performing admin activity around Power BI such as access management, Power Bi gateway set up etc.

•Experience maintaining code repo over GitHub.

•Moderate proficiency with Pythion programming

•Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements and create user stories

Experience:

•Comfortable working in an Agile rapidly changing environment

•Experience working with AWS Athena, Postgres, MySQL and Power BI.

Qualifications:

•Computing/Engineering/Numerate degree
