Salary & Benefits:

£200 - £300 per day.

This is a contractor position. While benefits are not available at this time, full-time opportunities may become available in the future.

Initially a two-month period for two days a week, potential to lead to more work.

Role Description:

We are looking for an experienced JavaScript Developer with expertise in Shopify theme customisation to join our team on a short-term contract basis, starting at two days a week, with potential for more work depending on availability. The primary focus of this role will be to help Arksen optimise conversion for our apparel products by reviewing our existing Shopify template and codebase. The ideal candidate must be able to work on-site in London to make necessary modifications and implement new features that enhance user experience, functionality, and performance. This role requires someone with understanding of working with customised Shopify themes and not just fixed or pre-built Shopify templates.

Responsibilities:

Review the existing Shopify template and codebase, identifying areas for improvement and optimisation
Customise and enhance Shopify themes using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS tailwind.
Implement new features and functionalities, ensuring seamless integration with Shopify’s ecosystem.
Work with APIs, including Shopify’s Storefront API and third-party services.
Optimise website performance, focusing on speed, accessibility, and mobile responsiveness.
Ensure Shopify theme customizations align with UX/UI best practices.
Work from brief with designers and marketers to implement CRO tactics.

Ideal Candidate:

Strong JavaScript skills (ES6+), with experience in front-end development.
Proven experience working with customised Shopify themes
Ability to quickly understand and modify an existing Shopify codebase.
Proficiency in HTML, CSS tailwind with a focus on responsive design.
Experience with Shopify APIs, including Storefront API and Admin API.
Understanding of Shopify’s checkout extensibility and theme architecture.
Familiarity with Git and version control best practices.
Ability to troubleshoot and optimise Shopify storefronts for performance.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Must be based in London and available for on-site work two days per week.
