On behalf of a prestigious university, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Digital Transformation to lead and oversee a portfolio of digital change initiatives. This is a pivotal role within the institution's Digital and Technical Services (DTS) Directorate, providing leadership in the planning, implementation, and governance of digital transformation projects.
The Role:
The Head of Digital Transformation will be responsible for shaping and delivering the university's digital change agenda. Reporting to the Director of Digital and Technical Services, the successful candidate will lead the development of a strategic project portfolio management framework, ensuring that all digital initiatives align with institutional priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Director of Digital and Technical Services in the strategic planning and governance of digital transformation initiatives.
Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of an annual planning cycle and a project portfolio management framework.
Oversee the Digital and Technical Services (DTS) project portfolio, ensuring alignment with the university's broader strategic objectives.
Manage the Directorate's change function, working with university change boards and project teams to ensure effective project appraisal, prioritisation, and approval.
Provide specialist guidance on digital project management, governance, and benefits realisation to ensure effective implementation of transformation initiatives.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of digital projects, in line with agreed quality, cost, and time parameters.
Oversee the development of policies and processes to enhance project governance and ensure a consistent approach to change management.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, including GDPR, data protection, health & safety, and equality & diversity regulations.
Provide leadership and management to multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring effective resource allocation and workforce planning.
Contribute to budget management within the DTS Directorate, identifying efficiencies and opportunities for service improvement.
Deputise for the Director of Digital and Technical Services in a major incident or crisis situation, as required.
