Your new company
I’ve been retained to recruit a DevOps Engineer (Azure DevOps) for an award-winning financial services business in the South East. With thousands of employees in the UK your scope to influence will be huge.
You can work remotely within the UK in this role, visiting their Southampton head office around once a month, with this in mind you must be located within 100 miles/2 hours of Southampton.
Your new role
This is an amazing opportunity and the ideal time to be getting involved within a Financial Services company where software is a profit maker, not a cost. They are an online business first so tech has always been key.
You’ll work as an Azure DevOps specialist within a cross-functional Agile team contributing to the SW Dev lifecycle. This role heavily focuses on everyday management of application build, release and deploy aspects to deliver faster and safer continuous high-quality software to business.
You’ll be trusted to take ownership of creating and maintaining exiting CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins & Azure DevOps) to meet build, test, release and deploy & security requirements, as well as running the software release management process. Experience with source code management system such as GIT is essential as you’ll be defining the application branching strategy.
Engineers here aren’t dictated to, you’re encouraged to challenge the status quo, to suggest enhancements and to tackle technical debt head on. This team are growing continuously at a time when redundancies are prevalent elsewhere. There are progression opportunities to Senior, Principal and Tech Lead the into management and a meritocracy so movement through these levels will be based purely on performance.
What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for 5+ years commercial experience in DevOps roles and working with Azure.
You must have strong experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and will have excellent Docker & Kubernetes skills. You must also have strong experience with Helm Charts and Automation skills in environment/releases.
Nice to haves include GIT, Selenium and of course the deeper suite of Azure tools (App Services, Azure Functions etc).
If you have worked in Financial Services of Insurance previously your application will stand out, but this is not a pre-requisite.
What you'll get in return
Working here you’ll join a thriving team working on an enterprise level solution. There is great flexibility in working hours and it’s a hybrid/remote role. They are offering up to 10% annual bonus, 9% pension match, private medical cover, 27 days holiday (+ bank holidays) and access to flexible benefits platform to really fine tune what works for your lifestyle.
