Job Title: Principal Data Interface Developer
Location: Bournemouth, 2 days a week on site a week
About the Role
We are seeking a Principal Data Interface Developer to join a dynamic IT Digital and Business Solutions Team. In this pivotal role, you will help lead the design, implementation, and operation of a Hybrid Integration Platform (HIP), ensuring secure and efficient data exchanges across enterprise applications.
As a key member of the Data Interface Team, you will play a leading role in shaping the strategy for data integration, building high-quality services, and supporting the digital transformation of the organization.
Main Responsibilities
Lead the Design & Implementation: Collaborate with the team to create and maintain the Hybrid Integration Platform (HIP), ensuring maximum data reuse and integration security.
Technical Design & Quality Assurance: Translate logical models into development specifications and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions with input from cross-functional teams.
Solution Evaluation & Recommendations: Analyse data integration challenges and propose optimal, cost-effective solutions.
Service Management: Design, implement, monitor, and support data integration services to meet required service levels and exceed expectations.
Collaboration & Mentorship: Provide guidance to junior developers, promote best practices, and work closely with other teams to drive project success.
Emerging Technologies: Stay up to date with the latest integration technologies and integrate them into the organization's IT infrastructure where beneficial.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a highly skilled developer with significant experience in data integration services and application development. The ideal candidate will possess:
Expertise in data integration technologies (JSON, XML, XSD, etc.)
Strong experience in C# and Object-Oriented Programming
Practical knowledge of IPaaS technologies (e.g., Logic Apps, Functions)
In-depth experience with SQL databases, API consumption, and web services
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to mentor and collaborate with a multi-skilled team
A degree in a relevant field or demonstrable experience
Desirable Skills
Experience with reporting tools like SSRS or Business Objects
Familiarity with PRINCE2 or ITIL methodologies
Passion for exploring emerging technologies and improving integration processes
Experience working in a higher education or public sector environment
