About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Architect with active UK Security Clearance to design, implement, and optimize Oracle-based cloud solutions. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering secure, scalable, and resilient cloud architectures for government and defence clients.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture & Design:
• Design and implement secure, high-performance OCI solutions in compliance with UK government security standards.
• Lead cloud architecture, migration, and integration projects using OCI services.
• Provide technical leadership in cloud-native application and database deployments on Oracle Cloud.

Security & Compliance:
• Ensure security best practices, compliance, and governance are embedded into OCI environments.
• Optimize OCI infrastructure for cost-efficiency, scalability, and performance.

Technical Leadership & Collaboration:
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into robust cloud solutions.
• Provide technical documentation, roadmaps, and guidance for cloud deployments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex OCI-related issues.
• Stay updated with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends.

Essential Skills & Experience

Proven experience as an Oracle OCI Architect, with hands-on expertise in designing and deploying enterprise-scale cloud solutions.
Strong knowledge of OCI services (Compute, Networking, Storage, Security, IAM, Database).
Experience with Oracle Cloud migration projects from on-premises or other cloud platforms.
Strong understanding of security, compliance, and governance in UK public sector environments.
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent tools.
Solid knowledge of networking, VPNs, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
Experience working with automation & DevOps tools (CI/CD, Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes).
Ability to lead technical teams and provide expert consultancy on cloud strategy.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Active UK Security Clearance (SC or DV) is mandatory, NPPV3 would be a benefit

Desirable Qualifications

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Certifications (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Professional).
Experience working with UK Government, Defence, or Critical National Infrastructure projects.
Understanding of multi-cloud strategies (AWS, Azure, GCP alongside OCI).
Familiarity with database administration (Oracle Autonomous DB, Exadata, MySQL, etc.).
