Role: Senior Azure Cloud Engineer/Senior Azure Cloud Architect – Hybrid, London – Global Digital Consultancy – Azure, AWS, Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes – PERM – £65K-£90K plus bonus and benefits
I am currently working with a well-known Global Digital Consultancy who are looking for someone to take ownership of their Azure platform and Site Reliability in a new global Digital Transformation project. This is a really interesting project for the right person to help transform and shape the Cloud Technology within the business.
Required experience of the Senior Azure Cloud Engineer/Senior Azure Cloud Architect:
Expert knowledge of cloud offerings and practices in Azure including cloud architecture and systems design.
Commercial experience in scoping and delivering complex infrastructure and delivery pipeline solutions at scale.
Proven ability to articulate complex technical designs and requirements to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience of delivering end-to-end cloud solutions using technologies and practices such as: Azure DevOps, GitHub, IaaS, PaaS, Docker, Kubernetes and Serverless.
Expertise in DevOps theory and an ability to explain the theory and approaches to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Input into the design of, and own the implementation of, cloud infrastructure.
Be directly responsible for the implementation of the CI/CD toolchain.
Find delivery bottlenecks and areas for performance improvements.
Perform tasks related to Site Reliability Engineering and other infrastructure/pipeline work as needed to support the overarching Systems team effort.
Work closely with technical leads to ensure that platforms are designed for continuous delivery and zero downtime.
Quickly identify trends and patterns, and drive out root causes of complex technical problems, in order to design and implement appropriate solutions
Understanding of using application lifecycle management tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub
Hands-on Software engineering experience would be beneficial with one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, Go, Bash, Powershell, Javascript, Java, C#)

- Job Purpose The Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer will be the technical authority on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) at PTSG, driving the design, implementation, and management of cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability, security, and cost optimization. This role will play a pivotal part in PTSG’s cloud transformation journey, focusing initially on the migration from third party datacentres (SCC) to GCP while ensuring seamless integration with existing IT operations and business systems. Although structured in 5 Divisions, there are over 25 operating businesses making the business landscape complex and challenging. IT is a critical part of the current and future success of PTSG and this is a key role in the success of IT. At present, IT is several distinct environments supported by multiple teams that has developed as the company has acquired but often not technically integrated companies over recent years. This will be brought together as one organisation / budget at start 2025 and then a process of integrating IT infrastructure and systems will take place building a standard platform for future growth. Not everything will be integrated depending on the ROI.
