Futureheads have exclusively partnered with an ed-tech company that is looking for a seasoned Principal engineer with a passion for mentoring and a knack for simplifying complex concepts to join a team on a contract-to-perm basis, with the potential for long-term growth. You will also thrive on leveraging cutting-edge AI tools to streamline development processes and LLMs.
Your Mission:
Lead and mentor our backend team, fostering confidence in DevOps and infrastructure development
Collaborate closely with our DevOps engineer to optimize processes using AI-driven solutions
Simplify complex workflows and accelerate development using innovative AI tools
Coach the team on Kafka, software design patterns, and backend best practices
You'll Excel If You Have:
Expertise in Kotlin and Python
Strong background in event-driven architectures, Kafka, and Kafka Streams
Proficiency in AWS, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes
Experience building microservices and leveraging LLMs for development
Passion for AI-powered tools in CI/CD and infrastructure management
Proven leadership in guiding engineering teams
Exceptional communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts simply

Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements: • Significant experience in large multinational companies, preferably within Financial Services • In-depth knowledge and experience of M365 Purview administration including Data Retention, Data Deletion, Legal Holds, IAR Holds, Modern Attachments and Compliance Boundaries (across multiple datasets in M365 e.g. Sharepoint Online, OneDrive, Exchange Online etc) • An understanding of how eDiscovery within M365 Purview works, including performance considerations. • Experience of Keyword Query Language (KQL) for eDiscovery is advantageous. • Experience with Enterprise Vault on-premises deployment is advantageous. • Ability to communicate complex ideas simply, using presentations and other comms artefacts. • Ability to articulate complex technical issues concisely. • Experience working with Regulators, Compliance functions, and legal teams is desired. • Knowledge and experience of using agile delivery methods and tools. • Commercially astute, ability to balance and assess risk vs. reward. • Respectful of different cultures, working with colleagues from across the globe. • Good leadership skills.
