Job Specifications

Data Scientist – AI Software | Junior to Mid-Level
Location: Cambridge, UK (Hybrid)
Salary: £35,000 – £55,000 (DOE) + Equity + Excellent Benefits

We’re working with an innovative AI company based in Cambridge, pushing the boundaries of environmental sustainability in ways you’ve never seen before. They’ve developed an AI-powered platform that not only predicts but actively designs solutions for environmental challenges. Imagine a tool that can automatically design energy-saving systems, optimise waste management, and even create new sustainable business practices based on real-time data.

This AI system learns from various industries, such as energy, agriculture, and manufacturing, to generate insights, create tailor-made applications, and optimise processes for reducing carbon footprints. It’s a tool that doesn’t just help; it evolves, anticipates, and builds the future of sustainability at scale.

What You’ll Do
As a Data Scientist, you’ll work with the team to develop advanced machine learning models that process data from sensors, IoT devices, and environmental systems across industries. These models aren’t just analysing data; they’re actively helping companies optimise operations and reduce their environmental impact. The platform’s AI can make decisions on what sustainability initiatives to implement based on patterns, and you’ll be enhancing its ability to predict and automate solutions that businesses can immediately apply in their operations.

Your work will involve analysing energy consumption data and supply chain emissions, feeding this into the system to make it even smarter. The platform’s AI evolves over time, generating new ideas for systems that cut down on waste, design green tech solutions, and help reduce environmental damage at scale. You'll be part of a team that creates the next generation of eco-tech by combining AI, data, and environmental science in a way that has never been done before.

You’ll also focus on predictive modelling, working with time-series data and creating algorithms that forecast energy usage patterns, optimise resource allocations, and design sustainable practices. This isn't just about analysing data—it’s about using AI to create actionable, scalable solutions that will reduce waste and improve sustainability across industries.

What We’re Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Master's degree is a plus, especially in Sustainability or AI.
Ideally, 1+ year(s) of experience in data science, AI, or machine learning, with a focus on real-time data and environmental solutions.
Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
A strong understanding of working with IoT data, energy usage data, or supply chain emissions is highly desirable.
Passion for environmental sustainability and a desire to use AI to change the way businesses think about their environmental impact.

Why Join Them?
This is a rare opportunity to be part of a company that’s not just talking about sustainability but is using cutting-edge AI to create real-world solutions. Here, you’ll be at the forefront of developing predictive systems that don’t just analyse data—they build the tools that businesses will use to optimise their operations for a greener future. You’ll work with a team of passionate, innovative minds who are committed to reducing the carbon footprint of industries across the world.

This company believes in giving their employees the tools and freedom to innovate. They are on a mission to combine AI, sustainability, and real-time environmental data in ways that could completely revolutionise industries. If you want to see the power of AI applied to tackle global sustainability challenges, this is the place to be.

Why It's Exciting to Join This Company
Work on a unique AI platform that designs real-time, sustainable solutions for businesses.
Get the chance to develop software that actively predicts the future of energy use, waste management, and carbon reduction.
Be part of a passionate and collaborative team working at the intersection of AI and sustainability, driving impact on a global scale.
Hybrid working with a great Cambridge-based office that offers a fun and dynamic environment.
Enjoy competitive salary, equity options, and a comprehensive benefits package, including private healthcare and ample vacation time.

This isn’t your typical data science role—it’s a chance to shape the future of how businesses will operate in a more sustainable world. If you’re passionate about AI, sustainability, and real-world impact, apply now to join a company that’s pushing the limits of technology for the greater good.
