Job Specifications
We are looking for a Principal Systems Engineer to develop and maintain a portfolio of Highly Available, Business Critical Linux based Servers & applications, in both bare metal and virtualized environments.
Outside IR35 position
Skills, experience and qualifications (required)
Overall 15+ years of experience with minimum 7 years of experience in network focused systems domain.
Demonstrable very strong background in installing, maintaining and administering Linux based systems, ideally in the Redhat Ecosystem (RHEL, RH Satellite, RH Insights).
Good work experience with configuration management using Ansible is a MUST.
Good working knowledge of Python or other Scripting language.
Experience with creating and maintaining highly available clusters of systems.
Experience with Patching & Reporting of Linux based Systems.
Solid understanding of systems security best practices and the means to implement them.
Work experience in installing and administering Databases and DB clusters (PostgreSQL, MariaDB, Patroni).
Experience working with cloud infrastructure, like Azure.
Proficiency in Linux distributions such as Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, or SUSE.
Experience with configuration management tools (eg, Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
Familiarity with Scripting languages (eg,Bash, Python, Perl).
Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH, etc.).
Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies (eg, VMware, Docker, Kubernetes).
