Linux Administrator (SC Cleared)
Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires an experienced Linux Administratorwithvalid UK SC Clearanceto be based at their client's office in Wokingham, UK.
This is a fully onsite role. (For the 2 months training period, you will be required to be onsite in Warwick 3 days per week and can work remotely from home for the remaining 2 days per week. After the training, you will revert to your usual working location providing onsite support 5 days per week inWokingham.You might need to goto Warwick for 2 days in a month if needed for any onsite meeting or discussion on request basis)
This is a 6+ month temporary contract to start asap.
Day rate: Competitive Market rate.
Key Responsibilities:
Disk Management using LVM, RAID Configuration, and Hardware/Disk replacement
Find Root Cause Analysis and solve incidents and troubleshoot Networking issues with familiarity of tools such as TCPDUMP
Set up new Linux boxes to create a distributed environment setup using VMware hosts
File/Directory Management, Soft link/Hard link, Mounting File Systems & Drives, HP Logical Volume Management
Monitor system activity and events like System Performance Monitoring and tuning CPU, Memory, Network and Disk Utilization
The customisation of Root File system for target platforms based on the Linux file system
File system and OS related development under Linux platform
Configure and maintain the Linux kernels
Key Requirements:
Expertise in system design, build and management of RedHat Enterprise Linux V6/7/8/9
Expertise in management of VMWare v7 solution
Hands on experience in installation and configuration of RedHat Cluster, Server migrations, commissioning and decommissioning of Servers
Familiarity with most Linux system administration tools and processes
Knowledge in User Management (LDAP) and AD user management
Hands on experience on Patching, YUM commands/configs and vulnerability management security tools
Needs to have good knowledge on security tools configuration and endpoint deployment
Knowledge and understanding of Networking protocols - TCP, NFS, NTP, SMTP, DNS, DHCP, FTP, TELNET, SAMBA, APACHE Webserver configurations
Understanding of Networking concepts such as IP forwarding techniques
Proven customer facing experience in an IT service role
Having Ansible and Scripting knowledge is an add-on
Active valid UK SC Clearance
