Job Specifications

Platform Engineer (security vulnerability, patch management, Qualys)
Initial 3 month contract - £500-£550 per day (inside IR35) - 1 day per week from North West London office (the rest remote)
Our public sector client have a requirement for a Platform Engineer (security vulnerability, patch management, Qualys) to join on an initial 3 month basis. The role is focussed on remediating security vulnerabilities (eg CVEs) and patch management (Windows Server patches and 3rd party software).
Key skills required for the Platform Engineer (security vulnerability, patch management, Qualys)
Qualys (or similar config management skills) very beneficial for both security remediation AND patching (Win Server OS updates and 3rd party software)
Azure Desired State Configuration (DSC) - PowerShell skills required
Ideally should be a Windows Server engineer (Not Windows 10/11 and not Intune)
Azure Security Centre will be used for security and a separate dedicated Qualys implementation, and 3rd party audit scans will be used for identifying security vulnerabilities. Where possible, as part of the role, Qualys will be used to orchestrate remediations for vulnerabilities, but other means may be necessary (manual and automated/scripted).
The client are currently migrating from MS Configuration Manager and Azure Update Manager to Qualys for patch management. Qualys will also be used to deploy Windows and 3rd party patches to server OSes, both on-prem and in Azure. Patch update troubleshooting will be required.
