3 month contract - £500-£650 per day (inside IR35) - 2 days every fortnight from Newcastle office is a minimum, the rest remote
Our Government client have an immediate requirement for a Data Engineer to join on an interim basis, working 2 days per week out of their Newcastle office. The successful applicant will have vast expertise in AWS & Databricks, and ideally Quantexa (however this is not a prerequisite).
The minimum requirement for this role is to have active CTC/SC clearance. If you do not have active CTC or SC clearance, then you cannot be considered for this role.
Key experience required for the Data Engineer (Databricks, AWS, CTC/SC clearance)
Vast commercial experience with AWS & Databricks
Quantexa experience too then that's a bonus.
Expertise in setting up products from scratch, and defining engineering frameworks and patterns (eg ETL, test automation).
Beneficial to have experience in development of evidence management and master person products. The priority of these is the development of a master person record given that will be the crux of the data platform and its interaction with the digital service.
Experience of working with other suppliers/vendors
Expertise in identifying where policies and standards are required and defining them for their area of capability/specialism
Must have worked in multidisciplinary teams whereby they understand the required outputs to support the next stage of the data product development life cycle
Experience of anonymisation process should be in development & test considering personal information.

Job Description
Platform Engineer (security vulnerability, patch management, Qualys)
Initial 3 month contract - £500-£550 per day (inside IR35) - 1 day per week from North West London office (the rest remote)
Our public sector client have a requirement for a Platform Engineer (security vulnerability, patch management, Qualys) to join on an initial 3 month basis. The role is focussed on remediating security vulnerabilities (eg CVEs) and patch management (Windows Server patches and 3rd party software).
Key skills required for the Platform Engineer (security vulnerability, patch management, Qualys)
Qualys (or similar config management skills) very beneficial for both security remediation AND patching (Win Server OS updates and 3rd party software)
Azure Desired State Configuration (DSC) - PowerShell skills required
Ideally should be a Windows Server engineer (Not Windows 10/11 and not Intune)
Azure Security Centre will be used for security and a separate dedicated Qualys implementation, and 3rd party audit scans will be used for identifying security vulnerabilities. Where possible, as part of the role, Qualys will be used to orchestrate remediations for vulnerabilities, but other means may be necessary (manual and automated/scripted).
The client are currently migrating from MS Configuration Manager and Azure Update Manager to Qualys for patch management. Qualys will also be used to deploy Windows and 3rd party patches to server OSes, both on-prem and in Azure. Patch update troubleshooting will be required.

Key Responsibilities:
Developing and delivering comprehensive training programs for NEC Housing, including classroom-based, virtual and one-on-one coaching sessions.
