Job title: Development Engineer

This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of engineering projects from concept to production. You'll be at the forefront of developing advanced materials used in critical civilian and military applications, ensuring safety, efficiency, and innovation.

Responsibilities

Lead the development of new products and processes.
Design and execute test programs for validation and characterisation.
Support business development through customer visits, calls, and events.
Act as a key technical contact for suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
Become a subject matter expert within the business for a specific product range.
Define and implement internal and external test programs for new materials.
Some UK travel required, with potential for occasional overseas travel.

Requirements

Strong understanding of material science.
Well-organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects
Excellent technical writing skills for reports, proposals, and presentations.
Experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
Knowledge of composite materials is a plus.
High attention to detail and ability to work in a procedure-driven environment.
Must be eligible for Security Clearance.

Position: Software Developer

Job title: Software Developer

As Software Developer, you will work closely with the Lead Software Developer to develop and maintain our range of systems to ensure they continually meet business requirements.

Responsibilities

Support and development of the existing key applications using the following tools:
EFACS E/8: Standard toolset, Java, JavaScript, Hibernate, Wildfly and Mozilla Rhino.
BIRT: Report development using Eclipse Business Intelligence Reporting Tool (BIRT).
SSRS: Report development using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services.
Microsoft SQL Server: Support and maintenance of the database servers that underpin applications.
Undertake project management tasks such as the following:
Manage, assess, and report on project activities to meet deadlines.
Inform and work with other users.
Use of Jira and Confluence for tracking work and projects requested by business stakeholders.

Requirements

An HNC/HND or higher in a computer related discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
Hands-on coding with JavaScript.
Knowledge of SQL and SQL Server.
Minimum of two years software development experience within a commercial working environment.
Version control software such as Git, SVN, CVS
