Role: Senior Data Engineer
Location: London
Position Type: Perm
Job Description
Architect and build a scalable data foundation for our Hedge Fund Client to support diverse data needs, including various upstream and downstream data integrations, batch and real-time insights, and multiple data types
Work with technical and portfolio managers and convert conversations to comprehensive solutions
Act as an individual contributor. Be able to write and guide engineers to produce elegant, scalable code, owning complete solutions across the stack.
Implement, create change management for and maintain best practices best practices for data ingestion, creation, enrichment and management, including data modeling, ETL processes, data warehousing, real-time data streaming, processing, storage, efficiency and real time insights.
Work on a cloud based infrastructure and be able to crate and execute plans for cost-effective, efficient, resilient, scalable and operational data infrastructure.
Work in an agile setup, helping with feedback to improve our way of working.
Required Skills
8+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related roles, with technical expertise in AWS, Python, Pyspark, Pandas, Snowflake, Airflow
Strong domain experience, working with Quant groups or Portfolio Managers with large investment banks or in the Hedge Fund Industry
Proven track record of designing and managing large-scale data infrastructures in a complex, fast-paced environment
Expertise in cloud platforms and big data technologies including proficiency in database management systems, ETL and data warehousing solutions
Experience with data integration tools and techniques, processes and real-time data streaming and processing
Additional - Good to Have
Experience with data governance and security
Experience in DevOps and IAC (terraform) is a plus
Experience in the Hedge Fund Industry
