Full-Stack Engineer at VC-Backed Startup
Job Description
Software Engineering
⏰ Full-time
GBP 60k-100k / year
Hybrid (Kings Cross, London)

Are you a full-stack engineer looking to join the founding team at a VC-backed startup?

We're looking for an A-player - someone keen to join a startup, make a massive impact and build from the ground up in a fast-paced team.

We’re hiring for an exceptional Founding Engineer to join us at a pivotal moment. We’ve just closed our funding round, our user base is growing fast (we’ve outgrown our MVP on Bubble), and we’re ready to rebuild everything- properly.

This is a ground-up build. You’ll shape the architecture, own the technical direction, and help define what great looks like in our product. We’re building agentic AI workflows to surface hidden talent, and your work will directly help women return to the workforce with confidence.

You’ll be joining a small, mission-driven, high-ownership team working out of Balderton’s office in King’s Cross (but we're open to remote).

What you’ll do
Build the future of our platform from scratch—this is greenfield work
Architect, ship, and scale high-quality software using modern tech
Implement and experiment with agentic AI workflows (Langchain or similar)
Collaborate closely with the co-founders and help shape the tech culture
Contribute to a product that’s making a real-world impact at scale

You’ll be a great fit if you...
Are a passionate builder who thrives in early-stage chaos and creativity
Have strong experience in React and Node.js (or similar modern stacks)
Are familiar with - or excited to learn - agentic AI frameworks
Have shipped real software in product-focused or cloud-native environments
Want to see your work make a measurable, positive difference
Love autonomy and are ready to take ownership
BONUS - you have built recruitment marketplaces in the past

Desired Technologies
We’re not expecting mastery in every area, but experience with the following will set you up for success:
Python (FastAPI)
React & React Native (Expo)
SQL (PostgreSQL preferred)
Redis
ChromaDB or Pinecone
LangChain or similar orchestration tool
OpenAI, Claude, Gemini – LLM integration and prompt engineering
LangSmith or similar – prompt monitoring and debugging tools
AWS S3 / Cloud Storage
React-PDF or LaTeX
Docker, Git, CI/CD tools – for deployment and DevOps basics

You’ll be working in an environment built around trust, clear communication, and flexibility, with strong onboarding to support your return to the workforce.

What the role entails:

Building and maintaining mobile app features using React Native and TypeScript
