Job Description

Based in London, our team are part of the FSEE (Foundational Systems and Experiences Engineering) group. We build the low-level SDKs and fundamental technologies used by our game development partners to create PlayStation Games.

Our team are working on the latest GPU and Machine Learning technologies to deliver the next generation of high-performance computer graphics for PlayStation.

We are looking for an experienced manager with strong people skills to lead a team of experienced engineers working on Graphics, Machine Learning and Game Technologies. With a strong understanding of engineering concepts, your main responsibility will be to lead and support a team of talented individuals to develop and deliver the best possible technologies for our development partners.

The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled manager with a background in Graphics/GPUs/ML development from working in video games or a closely related industry. You will have proven track record of leading effective engineering teams to deliver high performance, innovative technical solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

Managing a team of experienced software engineers: Providing guidance, mentorship, and unwavering support to help them achieve their professional goals, fostering an environment where they can thrive and excel.
Driving forward research, development and implementation of the latest graphics and game technologies through to delivery in our game SDKs.
Working with technical leads, engineers and project managers, to plan goals and objectives.
Connecting with stakeholders, making sure our solutions meet customer needs.

What We’re Looking For

A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
Experience delivering technologies in the interactive entertainment industry, computer graphics, or a related field.
A passion for gaming and a keen interest in GPU technology trends such as ML and Ray-tracing.
Excellent people skills with Line management experience (goal setting, appraisals, staff development, performance management)
Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet project timelines.
Familiarity with agile development methodologies and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

Domain Expertise:

Experience with programming languages, tools and frameworks relevant to graphics and machine learning (e.g., C++, Python, PyTorch, OpenGL, DirectX).

We are Media Molecule, a multi-award winning video game developer and a proud member of the PlayStation Studios family. We have a history of creating revolutionary games such as LittleBigPlanet, Tearaway and most recently the BAFTA Award winning Dreams. Description:

Location: Our Guildford studio or hybrid.

Role: We are looking for an enthusiastic, collaborative and creative person, with a clear attention to detail and an excellent technical background, to lead the delivery of presentational technology within our next exciting project.

What you'll be doing:

Lead the architectural design and implementation of UI, technical art and audio.
Provide inspirational day-to-day team management, through coaching, support and a positive team culture.
Work with artists, UX designers and audio designers to understand and realise their creative aspirations.
Champion and help define technical best-practice within Game Technology.

Skills required:

Excellent C++ skills with the ability to write readable/maintainable code.

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Analytics Engineering Manager to lead the new Partner Insights team - a team of 4-6 Analytics and Visualisation Engineers.

You will have a deep passion and skill for data analysis, efficient organisation of data, impactful presentation of data, visualisation and story telling. You will work closely with our engineering, business and product teams to interpret data and turn data from various sources into impactful and actionable insights.

The insights you and your team create will directly inform business decisions and actions that will make PlayStation the best place for Partners to create and publish games: from attracting and retaining the best Developers, Publishers and Content to optimising our Publishing and Development toolkits and providing great support.

Based in our London office, you will be working closely with other global teams - including data engineering, analytics, AI/ML and Data Science teams - requiring travel from time to time.

Responsibilities:

Lead, manage, coach and inspire a team of Analytics Engineers

Provide technical leadership to the team to guide architecture, design, UX and implementation
Guide development of team members, help them be impactful and grow their careers - through coaching, mentoring as well as formal evaluations and development plans.

Skills And Qualifications

Management: 3+ years experience managing, leading and building analytics teams
Must have people and performance management experience
Stakeholder Management: Skilled at Stakeholder Management - partnering with business and product teams to effectively understand, shape and deliver to their goals and outcomes
Business Intelligence: 8+ years of experience in enterprise business intelligence design and development, including
Expert Product and Technical experience delivering Data Products, Visualisations and analytics on Business Intelligence solutions (e.g. DOMO, Tableau, MicroStrategy, Qlik, PowerBI, etc.).
Expert at turning complex data into UX focused and intuitive visualisations
Delivering Self-Service data and reporting solutions
Building re-usable components and Data Assets
Data Analysis: Experience in analysing and interpreting data from multiple source types and technologies, including Master Data, Transaction Data, Web & Journey Analytics, Event Streams
Experience in several analytics techniques including trend analysis, propensity and attribution models for conversion and churn rates, segmentation, journey analytics
Data Transformation: Knowledge of and proficiency in ETL/ELT Techniques and tools (e.g. Snowflake, DBT, Databricks, Informatica, Ab Initio etc.)
Transformation and aggregation of raw data into modelled, re-usable dimensions, facts and metrics
Data Modelling: Experience building scalable and re-usable Data Products with data warehousing systems for large enterprises using sophisticated data warehousing design and modelling techniques.
Must have experience and knowledge of data model documentation and dimensional modelling.
