Automation Team Leader
Job Description
The Automation Team Leader plays a pivotal role in driving innovation and efficiency within our injection moulding operations. Responsible for leading a team of four automation engineers, this role focuses on developing and implementing smart automation solutions that enhance manufacturing performance, reduce costs, and support the production of high-quality cable management solutions.
The role holder would ensure that automation projects are aligned with business goals, delivered on time, and meet safety and quality standards. This position combines technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and strategic vision to make a significant impact on our operational excellence and competitiveness in the market.

Requirements
Qualifications:
Degree in Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (preferred).
Relevant technical experience in automation, robotics, or PLC programming.

Experience:
5+ years of experience in automation within FMCG environment, preferably injection moulding.
Proven experience in leading and developing a technical team.
Demonstrated success in delivering cost-reduction and efficiency improvement projects.
Track record of delivering projects on time
Experience with handling and automating processes for products that are inherently challenging due to their flexibility, variability, or unpredictable movement characteristics. Prior experience with complex, non-rigid components (such as cable ties, wires, or other free-moving items) is highly desirable.

Technical Skills/Knowledge:
Proficient in PLC programming, HMI development.
Expertise in robotic integration and motion control systems.
Strong understanding of injection moulding processes and automation applications.
Knowledge of health and safety standards in engineering operations.

Summary of the role
Team Leadership:
Lead a team of four automation engineers to deliver innovative automation solutions.

Automation Strategy:
Develop and implement automation strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs in manufacturing processes.
Identify areas for improvement through data analysis and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Project Management:
Manage multiple automation projects from concept to completion.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Conduct regular reviews of project progress and resolve issues proactively.

Innovation and Problem-Solving:
Research and propose new automation technologies and methodologies.
Implement smart automation solutions tailored to manufacturing cable management solutions.

Compliance and Safety:
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all automation activities.
Maintain high standards of documentation, risk assessments, and operational procedures.
