Mission statement

As the Head of Engineering - Platform at Keyrock, you will lead our engineering teams in developing and maintaining the backoffice and trading data platform systems at the core of our organisation. We are looking for a hands-on leader who is not only experienced in building scalable, resilient, and high-performance systems but also willing to roll up their sleeves and actively contribute to engineering efforts. Key Responsibilities

Architect, develop, and maintain large-scale, high-performance trading data platforms with a focus on low latency and high availability.
Apply data engineering principles to design efficient, scalable, and fault-tolerant data pipelines for trading, risk management, and reporting.
Ensure seamless integration between trading operations and backoffice systems, improving operational efficiency and automation.
Lead cloud-native infrastructure initiatives, leveraging AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform to deploy and scale systems efficiently.
Implement GitOps-driven workflows to enhance deployment automation, observability, and system governance.
Foster a DevSecFinOps culture, ensuring security, compliance, and financial accountability within the development lifecycle.
Optimise data storage and retrieval strategies, balancing performance, cost, and compliance in a financial services environment.
Collaborate with engineering leads, risk managers, product managers, and engineering teams to enhance the overall platform capabilities.

Technical Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Proven experience in building and maintaining data-intensive, large-scale, high-performance trading data platforms.
Strong expertise in Rust (or C++), Python, and TypeScript for system development and automation in the financial services industry.
Deep understanding of data engineering principles, including data modeling, ETL pipelines, and stream processing.
Experience with financial services data workflows, including trading, middle office, and back office operations.
Extensive experience in cloud-native architectures, with proficiency in AWS
Proficient in GitOps tools and methodologies for infrastructure automation and deployment.
Strong background in DevSecFinOps, ensuring compliance, security, and cost efficiency across the development lifecycle.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and monitoring tools.

Role Overview

We are looking for an IT Operations Lead to manage and support our IT Operations team, ensuring smooth day-to-day IT support for our end-users while maintaining a secure and efficient IT environment. This role involves leading a team of IT Operations Engineers, troubleshooting technical issues, managing general IT infrastructure, and driving best-in-class IT policies. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with excellent technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development
Lead and mentor a team of IT Operations Engineers, providing guidance, training, and career development.

We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our team, focusing on AWS, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps best practices. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining highly scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure to support our trading operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud computing, automation, and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring high availability and performance for mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and maintain scalable and resilient infrastructure on AWS using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
Kubernetes Administration: Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters for containerized applications, ensuring high availability and security.
Automation & CI/CD: Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployment, testing, and monitoring of applications.
Observability & Monitoring: Develop comprehensive monitoring solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or similar tools to improve system reliability.
Security & Compliance: Apply best practices for cloud security, IAM policies, and compliance frameworks (SOC2, ISO 27001, etc.).
Incident Response & Performance Optimization: Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes to optimize performance.

Background And Experience

5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, SRE, or DevOps roles.
Interest in or any exposure to trading or similar themes would be desirable (not essential)

Competences and personality

Strong expertise in AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, IAM, etc.).
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS, K3s, or self-managed clusters).
Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or Go.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible).
Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK, etc.).
Strong understanding of networking concepts (VPC, Load Balancers, DNS, Firewalls).
Experience with DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and GitOps practices.
Experience with high-performance and low-latency (sub millisecond) systems.
