CMCL is an award-winning technology company offering digital engineering software and services to industry, research organisations, and governments. Our diverse team comprises world-class scientists and engineers working in a vibrant environment with great opportunities for knowledge and skills development. As a solutions-driven company, we value our people.

We’re looking for talented software developers to join our team and help us deliver real world solutions to real world problems.

About the role: We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic about solving real world problems with cutting-edge software to join our digital twin team; primarily working on solutions powered by The World Avatar™, a collaborative digital ecosystem.
• We believe that there’s no substitute for talking directly with the people impacted by our tools. Our team members work across the company, and talk directly to our customers and collaborators, to ensure we're always tackling the most pressing problems in an effective way.
• Our tech stack includes a combination of established and cutting-edge technologies, including HTML, CSS, Typescript, relational and graph databases, and containerisation. You’ll become familiar with our stack technologies, but you’ll also help us define what future versions look like.

What you’ll achieve:
• Directly influence and contribute to the design, development, and ongoing application of our user-facing digital twin services.
• Share your experience with, and learn from, a great team with a wide range of backgrounds in a feedback-driven culture.
• Work closely with stakeholders and users, providing them with support, researching potential new features, and gaining feedback to help drive new ideas and ways to improve our tools.
• Contribute your opinions on a wide range of topics, from software engineering practices to overall product strategy and wider reaching business decisions.

About you:
• Have experience working on UI/UX projects, iterating with end users and delivering.
• Proven track record of working across the entire software development lifecycle.
• Proficient with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• You are comfortable using version control systems (Git) and Linux environments.
• Are enthusiastic about working closely with users to build and deliver the right solutions.
• Fluent in English with the ability to communicate technical concepts to potential customers and users.

What would really help:
• Experience using common technologies and frameworks (REST APIs, NodeJS, React, Next.js, Figma, Lighthouse etc.).
• Knowledge of test-driven development and CI/CD processes.
• Solid understanding of containerisation technology and its use.
• Experience querying remote data stores (MySQL, PostgreSQL etc.).
• Knowledge of ontologies and their use in semantic web applications.
• Interest in setting up, administrating, and maintaining computer hardware.

Salary and benefits:
• This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday.
• In-person and hybrid.
• Competitive salary in line with the industry and based on experience.
• Opportunities for personal development including courses, conferences, etc.
• A diverse and committed team within a fantastic office environment.
• Company pension scheme.
