About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Third Line Support Engineer to join our Tech team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting and maintaining complex IT systems, with hands-on experience in SQL Server, Power BI (or similar) along with IT system administration. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our internal and customer facing systems and providing advanced support to resolve technical issues that cannot be addressed by the first and second-line support teams.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support
Provide third-line technical support for complex incidents and requests.
Diagnose and resolve advanced data, database, and system-related issues.
Collaborate with internal teams to address critical system problems.
MS SQL Server
Resolving database queries / backend fixes
Develop and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and reports.
Monitor database performance and ensure data integrity.
BI Reporting
Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI (or similar) dashboards and reports.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into actionable insights.
Create, optimise and troubleshoot Power BI (or similar) datasets and integrations.
System Administration
Supporting with maintaining internal servers, networks, and infrastructure.
Supporting with performing routine system maintenance, patching, and updates.
Configure and manage user accounts, permissions, and system security.
Collaboration & Documentation
Act as an escalation point for the Technical Support team.
Document solutions, configurations, and procedures for internal knowledge sharing.
Participate in project planning and provide input for system improvements.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential
Proven experience in a third-line support role or similar.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including database management, optimization, and scripting.
Proven proficiency in developing reports and dashboards using Power BI (or similar BI tooling).
Solid understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, and system administration tasks.
Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Desirable
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
Knowledge of ITIL best practices for incident and problem management.
Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
