Key Responsibilities:

Design and build bespoke IoT and ML products for the sustainable energy sector, using modern technologies such as Typescript, Node.js, React, and AWS.
Focus on high-quality code and best practices, with a strong emphasis on Test-Driven Development (TDD) and writing clean, maintainable code.
Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-driven environment within the team.

Role Overview:
As the Infrastructure Manager, you will be responsible for the health and stability of our technology infrastructure. This role involves proactive and reactive support, operational system improvements, and assisting in infrastructure changes, upgrades, and disaster recovery management.

Key Responsibilities:
Proactively monitor all areas of the university's technology infrastructure, swiftly resolving issues.
Act as an escalation point for infrastructure issues, ensuring clear and effective communication with stakeholders.
Manage core system backup checks, maintain data integrity, and collaborate with third parties on infrastructure changes.
Provide support for disaster recovery planning and testing.
Work closely with other technology managers, enhancing ticket ownership and resolution accuracy.
Partner with external vendors to address complex issues, maintaining service level agreements.

Essential:
Experience managing technical support for large, multi-site infrastructures.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft, VMware, backup, Cloud technologies, and network management, including firewalls and switches.
Proficiency in system backups, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity best practices.
Proven ability to prioritize in a high-pressure environment and work effectively with stakeholders.
Experience collaborating with third-party vendors to resolve issues.
Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends and to respond to emergency campus needs on short notice.

Infrastructure Engineer – Liverpool/Hybrid - £45K

Maxwell Bond are excited to be assisting a Liverpool based business that are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join the team that will help to deliver key projects and maintain the existing Infrastructure.

This role will offer split hybrid working, with most of the IT team doing 3 days in the office and 2 at home per week. We are able to offer up to £45,000 for the role.

Job Responsibilities:

Infrastructure/3rd Line Support
Work alongside various teams across the business to support company IT Infrastructure (PM, Security, IT Support etc)
Design, implement and support the Infrastructure technologies across the business
Work alongside Cloud team to enhance skillset and collaborate on the company's Infrastructure roadmap

This is an opportunity for a Fullstack Software Engineer to join a Tech for Good business in Manchester as they embark on an ambitious roadmap of new products and services.

With big plans to keep scaling it’s an excellent opportunity for further career progression.

The Software Engineer will be working on backend services and APIs, Frontend Components as well as their mobile application.

You will need experience in the following:

TypeScript / JavaScript
Node / Nest
React / Next
REST / GraphQL
PostgreSQL / MongoDB / MySQL

Any experience with cloud technologies such as AWS / GCP / Azure is beneficial.

The team values collaboration and with plenty of new projects to get involved in, the team gets together twice a week in their central Manchester office.

With a two-stage interview that doesn’t include a tech test, the process can be wrapped up within a week.
