Job Title: IT Manager Location: Brighton / Hybrid (onsite a minimum of 1 day in office) Salary: £50,000 Role Overview: As the Infrastructure Manager, you will be responsible for the health and stability of our technology infrastructure. This role involves proactive and reactive support, operational system improvements, and assisting in infrastructure changes, upgrades, and disaster recovery management. Key Responsibilities: Proactively monitor all areas of the university's technology infrastructure, swiftly resolving issues. Act as an escalation point for infrastructure issues, ensuring clear and effective communication with stakeholders. Manage core system backup checks, maintain data integrity, and collaborate with third parties on infrastructure changes. Provide support for disaster recovery planning and testing. Work closely with other technology managers, enhancing ticket ownership and resolution accuracy. Partner with external vendors to address complex issues, maintaining service level agreements. Essential: Experience managing technical support for large, multi-site infrastructures. Strong knowledge of Microsoft, VMware, backup, Cloud technologies, and network management, including firewalls and switches. Proficiency in system backups, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity best practices. Proven ability to prioritize in a high-pressure environment and work effectively with stakeholders. Experience collaborating with third-party vendors to resolve issues. Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends and to respond to emergency campus needs on short notice.
