We are seeking a Senior Front Office Support Analyst for a leading commodities trading firm. In this pivotal role, you will provide 1st and 2nd line support for trading applications, ensuring seamless operations and optimizing workflows for the trading floor.
Acting as the bridge between technology and business, you will work closely with traders and critical users to maintain and enhance tools and systems, addressing technical challenges and enabling operational efficiency in a dynamic Front Office environment.
Responsibilities
Deliver 1st and 2nd line support for trading platforms such as Trayport, ICE and Bloomberg.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, minimising disruption to trading activities.
Address performance bottlenecks in Excel workflows, optimising macros, and implementing solutions for seamless operations.
Identify and resolve data issues, providing interim workarounds while liaising with development teams for permanent fixes.
Partner with traders to understand pain points, offering solutions to improve workflows and transition from Legacy Excel/VBA tools to modern, digitised systems.
Act as the on-desk support presence in London, ensuring rapid response and resolution of trader issues.
Collaborate with service desk, application support, and engineering teams to streamline issue resolution and align on solutions.
Ensure smooth operation of the trading stack, including Trayport, Bloomberg and ICE, and related downstream components like ETRMs, data streams, and data backbones.
Guide traders on data extraction, reporting, and integration with other trading tools.
Take ownership of fixes and enhancements, ensuring technical solutions align with business requirements.
Required Skills:
Experience working directly with Trading, Trade Execution, Risk, or Desk Analyst users.
Strong expertise in 1st and 2nd line support for commodity trading platforms, including Trayport, Bloomberg and ICE.
Proven expertise in troubleshooting ETRM/CTRM platforms is essential.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, including VBA for supporting spreadsheet systems and creating ad-hoc data analysis tools.
Solid understanding of commodity trade flows, including data extraction and downstream components.
Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and troubleshooting.
Experience managing knowledge systems such as Confluence or JIRA.
Proven ability to resolve high-pressure, time-sensitive technical issues in a trading environment.
Desirable Skills
Familiarity with Python or similar Scripting languages for providing technical fixes.
Experience in workflow digitisation, transitioning from Excel-based tools to modern solutions.
Academic background in Computer Science, with supplementary education in Math or Finance.
