At HistologiX we support our clients’ cutting-edge research, helping innovative biopharmaceuticals, monoclonal antibodies, biomarkers and immuno-oncology treatments gain regulatory approval. We are a niche GLP and GCP compliant laboratory with our experienced scientific team providing specialist immunohistochemistry (IHC), histology, digital pathology and image analysis solutions, working with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies worldwide.
Due to continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for you to strengthen our Image Analysis group and support the increasing demand for digital pathology projects.
Are you proficient in data manipulation, statistical approaches and deployment of relevant software e.g. R and RStudio?
Do you have a grasp of programming languages such as Python?
Are you familiar with statistical analysis and data visualization tools, ideally GraphPad Prism?
Do you have knowledge of image analysis philosophies and techniques? Experience with computational pathology image analysis tools e.g. Visiopharm, HALO or QuPath is desirable.
Do you have a degree or higher qualification in Data Science, Bioinformatics, Computer Science or a related Life Science field?
Are you passionate about bioinformatics and eager to contribute to the advancement of image-based research in a dynamic and growing organization?

If successful, you will play a key role in advancing digital pathology solutions by developing and applying computational methods to analyse images, generating valuable insights to further drug development and biomarker research. You will join a group of researchers working across the fields of pathology, machine learning, image analysis, bioinformatics and spatial biology.
Responsibilities and Duties
A client focussed approach with strong scientific expertise is key to our business. Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
Coordinate a range of complex, custom projects successfully, whilst ensuring on time and in budget completion in line with client requirements. Ability to work to defined timelines.
Support the development of deep learning-based algorithms for tissue segmentation and biomarker quantification for analysis of brightfield and fluorescent images.
Conduct spatial analyses of tissue features and cell phenotypes to extract biologically relevant insights.
Perform data manipulation, visualisation and statistical analysis. Analyse and scrutinise data outputs. Interpret and present data in a meaningful way to internal teams and external clients.
Collaborate with wet lab scientists and image analysis scientists to optimise image analysis pipelines, processes and SOPs.
Uphold company standards for quality control and reproducibility in digital pathology analyses. Display strong administrative and organisational skills with high attention to detail.
Diligent completion of study documentation including plans, forms, worksheets and reports.
Maximise output using effective forward planning and time management, whilst maintaining a work level of the highest quality. Possess strong administrative and organisational skills to work across a fast-paced organisation.
The role will be based in BioCity Nottingham, within regular business hours.
