Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer who will be part of the Aberdeen team supporting and developing their own Service Provider infrastructure, as well as being directly involved in the research, design, deployment & support of key services for their customers.

THIS IS AN ABERDEEN BASED HYBRID ROLE (WITH ON-CALL) SO CANDIDATES MUST BE LOCATED LOCALLY AND AUTHORISED TO WORK IN THE UK (NO SPONSOROHIP OR VISAS WILL BE CONSIDERED)

Key will be your ability to improve the efficiency and stability of current networks, primarily in Cisco, Juniper Meraki, and Palo Alto environments.
You will be skilled in designing and implementing new network solutions with a focus on availability and security and have a strong understanding of the infrastructure that depends on these networks.

Essential
Experience working as a Senior Network Engineer designing solutions for a variety or network environments
Degree or equivalent in a relevant technical engineering discipline
Take pride in delivering exceptional levels of customer support and building trust
Strong experience in deployment, configuration and support of firewalls, routers and switches to maximise network availability, efficiency and security
Experience of working and developing an ITIL environment
Experience of monitoring, diagnosing and troubleshooting network and infrastructure faults and performance
Strong understanding of cyber security principles, priorities and incident management
Project management experience ensuring delivery of key milestones across concurrent projects
Excellent customer facing skills and experience in supporting the pre-sales activity
Take pride in knowledge sharing and development of colleagues
Be able to be part of our on-call rota and support
Maintaining awareness of latest industry technologies and updates
Writing and maintaining technical documentation

Desirable
Achieve and maintain vendor certification, e.g. Cisco, Palo-Alto, Juniper
Knowledge of working to cybersecurity standards; Cyber Essentials Plus, IASME, ISO27001
Experience of working in an Agile or Prince2 project management framework
Experience in the research, development and rollout of new services
Experience of Azure/Microsoft 365
