Job Description

As an Analyst, you will play an integral role in all aspects of the full investment cycle, from origination, execution, asset management, through to exit. You will be responsible for conducting fundamental investment research, assisting in building recommendations, implementing investment strategies, and monitoring and managing portfolio investments. You will also support the identification, scoping, and implementation of value creation opportunities by conducting research, analysis, and preparing presentations.

Team Description

Accountabilities

Compile industry, market and asset level data and financial information to support research
Perform fundamental research and present research ideas to broader group
Work independently to develop complex financial models and perform valuation analyses; apply statistical analysis to support investment decisions.
Prepare analytical investment reviews and recommendations in collaboration with the team, including industry overviews, written investment rationales and due diligence reviews.
Liaise with external advisors and drive deal execution.
Assist Investment and internal partners in the preparation of ongoing and ad-hoc investment performance reporting.
Monitor ongoing financial and risk performance of portfolio assets.
Update financial models and other analytical tools to support the idea generation process and rationale behind changes in investment view.
Support transition of new assets into CPPIB portfolio by identifying benchmarks, building financial models and providing rigorous project management support.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree or college diploma in relevant field.
Strong research, analytical, financial modeling, valuation, problem solving skills and ability to think creatively.
Advanced computer/technical/modelling skills – MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
Solid verbal and written communication skills.
Additional languages are an asset.
