NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for an Accountant Associate to join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first.
We are seeking an experienced Accountant Associate who will be responsible for delivering accurate accounting and reporting across various operating units, to internal and external stakeholders to support timely decision making. In addition, the Accountant Associate will be responsible for ensuring robust controls around numbers reported in the financial statements.

Manage, monitor, and control data using established finance systems and protocols.
Prepare moderately complex documents using a variety of applications for technology devices, such as standard office software. You will also be responsible for gathering and summarising data for reports.
Produce accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting it into standard formats.
Find the most effective ways to respond to routine functional inquiries. This involves following procedures and precedents.
Develop knowledge and understanding of the organisation's policies and procedures and relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure their own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorisation from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedures.
Identify and escalate commercial or financial risks for works, to aid risk management.

Previous experience of working in an Accountant Associate role is essential.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
An understanding of accounting principles and familiarity with general ledger and accounting software.
The ability to analyse financial data and identify discrepancies.
High attention to detail ensuring accuracy in financial records and reports.
The ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and issues.
Works collaboratively and effectively with team members.
Very strong Excel skills
Part qualified and/or working towards an accountancy qualification.
