As a Data Center Facility Manager in Amazon Web Services, you will get to manage the world’s largest Cloud Computing Infrastructure. We encounter interesting, challenging & complex problems every day, being a technical facility manager in Amazon means that you can innovate to solve these issues and help drive Operations Excellence in all areas of your role. As a people manager you will actively hire and develop your team of data center experts and technicians. We are currently looking for a Facility Manager in Berkshire / West London area.
Key job responsibilities
Ensuring we adhere to and exceed Health & Safety standards in all our Data Centers
Managing and developing teams of engineers, providing both technical and leadership expertise and ensuring highest levels of performance.
Maintaining existing operational Amazon Data Centers to the highest level of Availability
Helping to build and bring online new Amazon Data Centers
Constantly improving all our processes and procedures, we believe there is nothing we cannot improve
Assisting and managing relationships with external vendors and contractors
Liaising with internal teams and management groups
Creating and maintaining metrics on all aspects of our Data Centers and utilising those metrics to drive positive changes
Assisting in implementing service methodologies including incident management, problem management, change management, capacity management, etc

Basic Qualifications
An excellent understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical Data Centre Operations including systems such as feeders, Transformers, Generators, Switch gear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, Air Handling units
Proven track record of people management and developing teams and in particular ensuring staff are ready for any and conditions through skill and process development
Ability to solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context
Experience working in data centers or another mission-critical environment ( e.g. Data Centers, Hospitals, Power plants, military facilities, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced electrical or mechanical qualification (Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline is also acceptable)
Full EU/ UK driving license.
