Job Specifications
Hey, we're Kukoon Rugs.
We sell rugs. Thousands of them. Every week.
We’re one of the UK & Ireland’s fastest-growing home decor brands, and we’re not slowing down any time soon.
We’ve built a £20m eCommerce business by staying agile, thinking big, and not taking ourselves too seriously - and now we’re looking for a Shopify Web Developer who’s ready to help us push things even further.
This role’s for someone who lives and breathes Shopify, loves building slick digital experiences, and knows that the devil’s in the details (especially when it comes to conversions). If that’s you - let’s chat.
What You’ll Be Doing
Shopify Development & Website Functionality:
Own the day-to-day development, optimisation, and maintenance of our Shopify store.
Customise themes, create new templates, and build reusable components that make our UX seamless and high-converting.
Work with our eCommerce and creative teams to bring landing pages and campaigns to life.
Improve site speed, performance, and technical health across all devices.
Troubleshoot bugs and implement quick fixes or long-term solutions without breaking things that were already working.
Multi-Store Management & B2B Expansion:
Lead the development and rollout of multiple Shopify storefronts (e.g. regional or brand-specific stores) while maintaining a consistent customer experience.
Build for scalability – ensuring each store is optimised, localised, and technically aligned to shared infrastructure.
Support B2B functionality through custom pricing, gated content, and integrations with wholesale apps or platforms
Help shape the roadmap for how we use Shopify Plus capabilities to serve both retail and trade customers effectively.
SEO, CRO & Analytics:
Ensure all code supports best practice SEO (semantic HTML, structured data, site architecture).
Implement A/B testing and CRO improvements based on analytics and user behavior.
Work with the eComm team to surface product and customer insights through GA, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity and Shopify reports.
Collaboration & Strategy:
Partner with marketing, design, and product teams to translate creative ideas into dev-ready briefs.
Recommend technical improvements that save time, increase conversions, or improve user experience.
Stay ahead of the curve with Shopify releases, eCommerce trends, and new tools worth exploring.
What You Bring to the Table:
A few years of hands-on experience building and optimising Shopify stores (bonus points if you’ve worked on high-traffic or international sites).
Strong experience managing multi-storefronts on Shopify Plus – with an understanding of domain strategy, shared codebases, and localisation best practices.
Familiarity with B2B eCommerce setups – including pricing logic, user roles, custom checkout flows, and integrations.
Front-end expertise: HTML, CSS/SASS, JavaScript, Liquid – writing clean, modular, responsive code is second nature.
Confident with APIs, Shopify CLI, version control (Git), and debugging tools.
Commercially-minded with a sharp eye for UX and a genuine interest in what makes eCommerce convert.
Comfortable working solo on dev tasks or as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team.
What You Get
4-day working week (April to September) — every Friday off, no salary sacrifice
Massive staff discount — basically free rugs
Onsite EV charging
Enhanced maternity pay
A team that moves fast, backs each other, and gets things done
Space to own your work, bring ideas and actually shape what we do
