Job Specifications
Code Wizards are looking for a skilled Elixir Developer to join on an initial contract basis, working on high-performance systems powering multiplayer gaming experiences.
You’ll help build scalable, reliable infrastructure that keeps players connected and engaged in real-time.
This hands-on development role may involve working on new features one minute or optimising existing services the next.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and implement robust, fault-tolerant Elixir services for real-time multiplayer games
Collaborate with front-end and gameplay teams to define APIs and service contracts
Optimise system performance, scalability, and uptime
Integrate third-party services for matchmaking, leaderboards, payments, etc.
Write tests, participate in code reviews, and uphold code quality standards
Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decisions
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Significant professional experience with Elixir
Solid understanding of distributed systems and functional programming
Experience with real-time messaging and databases.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Previous experience or passion for games, especially multiplayer or online real-time applications.
We will be prioritising candidates with experience in the Games Industry or who can demonstrate a clear passion for videogames!
