We are looking for Mainframe Designer for our client's project based at Knutsford, UK – 2 days per week Onsite

Job Summary:
Our Client is looking for Mainframe Designer/SME to join our Sierra team in the Cards domain, specifically within Service Delivery QA. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, and CICS on Mainframe ZOS, as well as deployment support and batch run monitoring experience. Familiarity with banking projects, particularly in the Cards domain, is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop, Design, maintain, and enhance applications using COBOL, JCL, and CICS on the Mainframe ZOS platform.
Support deployment processes, including code migration and implementation across environments.
Monitor and troubleshoot batch jobs and batch processing to ensure smooth execution and timely completion.
Work with VSAM and sequential datasets to manage data processing and file handling.
Provide technical support during batch run failures, identifying root causes and implementing corrective measures.
Collaborate with QA teams to ensure that changes and new functionalities meet business requirements and quality standards.
Engage with stakeholders for resolving technical issues related to Cards applications.
Participate in the full SDLC, adhering to best practices in software development for Mainframe systems.

Nice-to-Have Skills:
Familiarity with CardLink and Vision Plus platforms.
Experience with Easytrieve for report generation.
Knowledge of Webservices and REST API integration on mainframe systems.

Qualifications and Requirements:
3-5 years of experience working as a Mainframe Designer/SME.
Strong proficiency in COBOL, JCL, and CICS.
Experience with VSAM and sequential datasets.
Familiarity with Mainframe ZOS operating systems.
Prior experience with deployment support and batch monitoring in a banking project environment, preferably in the Cards domain.
Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred:
Knowledge of CardLink or Vision Plus.
Experience with Easytrieve, Webservices, and REST API.
Mainframe Developer with experience on deployment support, Batch run & monitoring, with experience in Banking projects, preferably Cards

Job Role: The purpose of the role is to provide support to the SZC Delivery Programmes to ensure configuration management functions (planning, identification, change control, status accounting and audit) are established, applied correctly and continuously improved. Principal Accountabilities: As a Configuration Lead, you'll dive into diverse areas, connecting with stakeholders to ensure project-wide awareness and implementation of Configuration Management arrangements.
