As a VP, Data Science, you will be responsible for setting the strategy and vision for the team that is a center of innovation and a major contributor to the company's core Products. Our goal is to become all-knowing in media and we’re looking for a hands-on leader to guide data science teams to deliver world-class products. This role will be key in leading and uniting a global team, fostering a cohesive culture, and ensuring alignment across regions.
What you’ll get to do:
Lead the Data Science Vision & Roadmap – Define and execute a strategic roadmap for AI and machine learning, ensuring alignment with IAS’s broader business and product goals
Drive Innovation – Research and develop next-generation AI and data science solutions that enhance advertising verification across brand safety, fraud detection, and media quality.
Scale and Optimize Data Science Operations – Implement best practices for model development, deployment, and monitoring within cloud-based production environments.
Lead & Develop a Global Team – Manage and mentor a high-performing data science team along with its day-to-day operation in supporting and maintaining existing products, allocating resources, and collaborating on roadmap.
Define project scope – Scope work and projects based on classification techniques and network analysis, working in coordination with the product management team.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally – Partner with product management, data engineering, and broader engineering teams to integrate machine learning models seamlessly into IAS’s technology stack.
Communicate Impact & Strategy - Communicate data science concepts and issues to a variety of stakeholders – technical and non-technical – across the organization, including sales, marketing, customer support, the senior leadership team, and occasionally participating in client meetings
Research and innovate - Continuously explore and integrate the emerging AI landscape and machine learning trends to keep IAS at the forefront of industry innovation
You should apply if you have most of this experience:
Advanced degree in a relevant technical field (machine learning, computer science, statistics, physics, mathematics, or related field)
17+ years of industry experience in data science and analytics, applying machine learning techniques to real-world problems
12+ years experience in team management (including team managers) and talent development
Significant experience in text and multimedia classification at large scale in production environments, including training data acquisition and management, evaluation methodology and practical scenarios like dataset shift, underspecification, extreme class imbalance
Experience in unsupervised learning/network analysis
Familiarity with modern deep-learning approaches
Experience with different crowdsourcing platforms, including methodologies for quality Control.
MLOps or comparable experience/related experience
Working familiarity/past experience with data science tools and technologies: Python, SQL, machine learning libraries/frameworks, cloud solutions
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and in matrix organizations.
Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable Manner to both technical and non-technical audience
