Responsibilities
Server Management:
Perform server maintenance tasks including drive replacement and powering on servers.
Assist with server migration and site closure as needed.
Monitor and manage server room access.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Perform regular data backups and disaster recovery operations.
Network Management
Move network cables as required.
Monitor the A/C unit in the server room.
Manage network configurations and monitor system performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
Desktop Management
Power on workstations for remote users as required.
Assist users with basic IT issues during morning UK hours.
Process e-waste and ship gear back to the Plymouth depot.
Additional Responsibilities
Be on-call on-site in case of power outages.
Provide on-site presence in the mornings following patch deployments.
Reset power strips as needed.
Collaborate with various departments to ensure IT systems align with organizational goals.
Document IT processes, systems, and configurations for future reference.
Provide on-site support coordination for desktop-related issues.
Qualifications
Proven experience in server management, including maintenance and migration.
Strong knowledge of network management and troubleshooting.
Experience in desktop support and user assistance.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Windows 10 Pro.
Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as PRTG Network Monitor.
Previous experience in a similar role within a corporate environment.
