Do you have 2+ years of experience as a New Product Developer with proven experience managing the NPD process through from initial trend concepts to order for cosmetics/skincare products?
Do you live in a commutable distance to Knutsford with access to your own car?
My client is a market leading manufacturer of innovative colour cosmetics, skincare, and beauty products!
They collaborate with blue chip multinational retail clients to bring their products to life and are famous for creating truly amazing cosmetics and skincare products on a mass scale internationally!
The role of New Product Developer – Cosmetics:
React, identify, and convert market opportunities based on emerging trends with strong commercial aptitude and the ability to correctly identify and size opportunities at both macro and micro level
Management of the NPD process through from initial trend concepts to order. Working cross functionally and collaboratively across all aspects of the business including, R&D, technical and design
Concept development – offering personalised private label solutions to clients from initial concept cads to packaging and final range look and feel
Range plan development – including creation of briefs for design teams and customers
Product architecture including copy writing for formulation developments, key ingredient call outs and line up presentations
Briefing in new formulation developments, based on client requirements, working closely with in house chemists to develop skincare and colour cosmetic formulations both in the UK and China
Work closely with the regulatory team to understand challenges and technical issues surrounding formulation developments, communication, and specifications
Sourcing with far east & UK factories for components and formulations
Costings – preparing product costings for the Account Managers to quote
Sample Management – working with internal teams and our factories to prepare samples for the client’s approval
Management of development critical paths, coordinating across teams, to ensure project deadlines are met before hand over to Merchandising teams
Create focal relationships with Account Managers & Merchandising for successful delivery of product lines
The requirements for the New Product Developer – Cosmetics:
You will already be an experienced New Product Developer in the Cosmetics and/or Skincare fields with proven experience managing the NPD process through from initial trend concepts to order
Great ability to work cross functionally and collaboratively across all aspects of the business including, R&D, regulatory, technical, sales and design
Calm under-pressure and be able to balance conflicting priorities
Comfortable with data handling and analysis and creative in ways of driving value from data created within the team
Ambition and motivation, hunger for success and genuine responsibility
Have a good addition to detail and strong communication skills
