Building highly secure services (we handle sensitive personal data).
Improving performance with investigative work.
Troubleshooting problems across distributed systems.
Understanding and automating away common problems.
Tackling challenging production issues as part of a supportive on-call team.
Building internal tools to support your colleagues.

What we're looking for
3+ years tackling hard technical challenges
Start-up/scale up experience
Experience with a modern programming language – we’ll teach you Go if you don’t know it already
Experience with IaC tools like Terraform
Extensive familiarity with AWS (we primarily use EKS, ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, Opensearch, Neptune, DynamoDB, SQS, and Eventbridge)
Experience with microservices and distributed systems
A solid understanding of different concepts from HTTP to gRPC, OSI layers to containerisation
Used to building complex services from requirements to shipping
Willing to learn new skills and really get stuck in
Bags of common sense with the raw ability and energy to make things happen, a real entrepreneurial spirit
Seasoned database experience – we use MySQL, DynamoDB, Opensearch and Redis

Last year vs Next year

What we’ve been doing in the last year
Improving team’s visibility into their systems through alerting with Pagerduty and common Grafana dashboards
Improving the stability, speed, and auditability of our container deployments to EKS, ECS and Lambda
Isolated per-team testing environments to improve developer experience
Creating a Kubernetes platform and enabled other teams to migrate to it
Setup Grafana Tempo to help teams understand how their microservices interact

What we’re looking to do over the next year
Develop tooling around our SQL database technologies to improve our security and observability postures
Provide teams more tooling to help them make informed decisions around cost, scaling, and incident management
Continue building out our Kubernetes platform to improve developer and customer experience
Improve the integration between our infrastructure across various clouds (primarily AWS, some GCP, some Cloudflare)
