Oversee the automation of infrastructure provisioning and configuration management. Provide technical authority, mentorship, and guidance to the engineering team. Develop and optimize ETL pipelines and data engineering workflows to ensure seamless data integration and analytics. Manage and maintain containerization and virtualization solutions, leveraging tools like Docker and Kubernetes. Collaborate with Treasury teams to ensure the reliability and scalability of systems, specifically within Wallstreet FX environments. Required Skills and Experience: Proven experience in a lead DevOps role with a strong focus on observability and automation. This role requires a deep understanding of Kafka's architecture, internals, and best practices. The candidate must be comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain high-throughput, low-latency Kafka clusters. Lead the upgrade of existing Kafka clusters from version 3.3.1 to the latest supported version, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity. Experience in confluent migration . Develop and implement monitoring and alerting systems for Kafka. Troubleshoot and resolve Kafka-related issues. Participate in on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 system availability. Reporting energy use, carbon impact and cost The post holder will act as the point of contact between the Trust and outside agencies such as the Environment Agency, Nottingham City Council’s Pollution Control Department (in relation to energy related emissions), Government Procurement Services (GPS) and energy/utility suppliers on matters relating to energy and utility contracts, the renewal/renegotiation of contracts and circumstances arising from variations and fluctuations in unit energy/utility costs.
