£400-435.00 per day, Outside IR35
Start ASAP - initially until the end of September (+ Likely extensions)
Fully Remote - Must be UK based
One of our valued partners requires the services of 2 x highly experienced Senior Software Engineers to join a project team delivering a large, high profile, Government program.
Prior public sector or government sector experience would he highly desirable, and strong communication and customer engagement skills are essential!
Technical Skills Required:
Python, Flask framework experience or any experience on other MVC front-end frameworks
Javascript and html experience
Spring Boot 3
Java 17, 21
OpenShift Cloud environment, experience in any of the cloud platforms Azure, GCP, AWS - nice to have
Rest API(s)
PostgreSQL or any other database experience
Flyway or any other DB migration tool experience
Integration testing, API testing experience
Experience with Test containers
Knowledge of containerization with Docker
Knowledge or experience of orchestration with Kubernetes or some equivalent
Geospatial experience - if possible!
Previous experience of working within Government or Public Sector
1 stage 45 minute screening interviews will commence week commencing the 21st of April.

By blending group and 1:1 lessons with enhanced online learning capabilities, we’ve already onboarded 5,000+ students. Now, we’re doubling down on embedding AI capabilities (e.g., real-time tutoring assistants, automated progress tracking) to revolutionise how students and tutors interact—both inside and outside the virtual classroom. The Role As our first in-house technical leader, you’ll spearhead the development of LessonWise’s platform, transitioning from outsourced teams to a hybrid model where you: Lead the integration of AI features from scratch (e.g., personalised learning recommendations, automated progress tracking, AI capabilities in the virtual classroom to tailor the online group tutoring experience to the individual students). Manage overseas developers—either optimising our current team or building a new one—to accelerate delivery.
