Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is the largest of Scotland’s seven Regional Transport Partnerships, established by the Transport (Scotland) Act 2005. As well as running the iconic Glasgow Subway, SPT delivers an extensive range of public transport services including bus stations and subsidised bus services, delivers projects directly and in partnership with others, and is responsible for preparation of the statutory Regional Transport Strategy for the west of Scotland.

Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT), is currently leading significant transport transformation plans, including:

bus reform;
Clyde Metro, a regional-wide integrated transport network; and
the latter stages of the significant Subway system modernisation.

At the same time as planning and looking ahead, we continue to deliver daily services.

About The Role

The Head of Transformation is the lead role in this journey, reporting directly to the Chief Executive and working collaboratively with the leadership team of SPT. You will work with a wide range of colleagues with a vast spectrum of skills and experience to define and develop a Future Operating Model for the organisation including working with existing workstreams in the business (eg - Subway, Corporate Services) and major new developing workstreams (eg - Clyde Metro and Bus Reform) to understand how these plans come together to deliver the future business requirements.

About You

The successful candidate will have a Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline. You will be a highly motivated individual with excellent organisational skills and the ability to lead teams through change. Proven experience of leading large-scale transformation projects is essential, as is the ability to demonstrate how people and culture, and processes come together for success.

You will have strong leadership skills and be an excellent communicator and negotiator with the ability to manage the interfaces between multiple stakeholders both internal and external to ensure the delivery to an exceptionally high standard.

Full time hours will be 35 hours per week Monday to Friday. However, you may be required to undertake work outwith this norm to meet the responsibilities of the post. SPT currently operates an informal hybrid scheme of 3 days in office/2 days working from home.

You will be based at 131 St Vincent Street, Glasgow. Please note, this position falls into the low risk category under the Alcohol and Drugs policy and therefore is subject to for-cause testing procedures.
