Job Title: Modelling Engineer (MATLAB/Simulink) – 3-Month Contract

Overview:
Our client is looking for an experienced Modelling Engineer to join their team on a 6-month contract. The successful candidate will develop dynamic system models using MATLAB and Simulink to support control algorithm development, system analysis, and performance validation.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on advanced HVAC systems, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and refine system-level and component-level models in MATLAB/Simulink.
Perform simulations and analysis to support control design, performance evaluation, and system optimisation.
Translate system requirements into accurate dynamic models.
Interface with control engineers, hardware teams, and test engineers to validate models against real-world data.
Document model assumptions, methodologies, and results in a clear and professional manner.
Support model integration and version control using tools such as Simulink Projects, Git, or similar.
Essential Requirements:
Proven experience in dynamic modelling using MATLAB and Simulink.
Solid understanding of system dynamics, control theory, and simulation techniques.
Ability to interpret system requirements and translate them into mathematical representations.
Strong documentation and communication skills.
Desirable:
Experience with model-based design (MBD) and code generation tools (e.g., Simulink Coder).
Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing or real-time simulation platforms (e.g., dSPACE, Speedgoat).
Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
Exposure to physical modelling tools (e.g., Simscape, Modelica).
