Job Description
As a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Expert, you will
Manage daily operations of the VDI environment (VMware/Omnissa Horizon).
Act as the lead SME and technical owner of the VDI service.
Drive continuous service improvements.
Deliver project tasks assigned during PI Planning.
Maintain documentation and support procedures, including upgrade cycles.
Configure, maintain, and enhance the VDI from an admin perspective.
Perform regular system checks and automate health monitoring.
Optimize performance and plan for capacity needs.
Apply deep experience in VMware/Omnissa Horizon design and support.
Qualifications
experience in complex IT environments, including Virtual Desktop solutions (preferably VMware/Omnissa Horizon).
Expertise in VDI administration: vCenter, storage, virtual machines, and Windows server/workstation management.
Experience managing large-scale, 24x7 mission-critical systems.
Skilled in OS image maintenance, patching, and end-user VDI support.
Strong troubleshooting skills in complex infrastructures.
Working knowledge of networking (e.g., load balancing, firewalls).
Experience with Active Directory design and implementation.
Familiar with ITIL practices and service lifecycle management.
Exposure to Splunk/SCOM monitoring tools, Agile, and SAFe methodologies (assets).
VMware certifications and experience with alternative VDI platforms (assets).
