Job Specifications
At McLaren Racing, we’re not just here to try to take the chequered flag. We’re here to excite our fans, inspire our people and deliver for our partners. And we’re also committed to evolving our sport, our industry, and our technology, too.
Purpose of the Role:
You will play a pivotal role in delivering value to our commercial and licensing partners, while growing the McLaren Racing brand. You will use your specialist knowledge to provide consultancy to partner managers, helping them to translate contractual rights into engaging content for McLaren’s global fan base.
As Senior Executive, Digital Content, you will be accountable for implementing clear processes and guidelines and liaising directly with partners to maintain the highest standard of partner activation on McLaren Racing’s digital and social media channels.
McLaren is a fast-paced and high-performance environment, and the nature of racing on weekends and working in the digital space means working in unsocial hours. We also have a fun, supportive and diverse environment where our people are given autonomy and opportunities to not only develop, but to also grow your skill base and develop into world-class practitioners.
Role Dimension
You will report to Manager, Partner Content Planner and be a part of McLaren Racing’s wider digital team, working in close collaboration with our content and social media teams. This role provides hybrid working but requires you to be at the McLaren Technology Centre (Woking, UK) at least three days per week.
Principal Accountabilities:
Support the ideation process and educate partner managers on how to best activate contractual rights on McLaren Racing’s digital channels.
Take a social-first approach to content, demonstrating strong knowledge of major platforms (e.g., Instagram, X, TikTok, LinkedIn) and how to tailor content to be appropriate and effective for each channel.
Help partners develop first-of-its-kind storytelling content series that deliver value for McLaren and its partners.
Collaborate closely with creative agencies to ensure that partner content meets McLaren's high standards and resonates with fans.
Work with the wider digital team to meet the contractual needs of partners across our CRM, web, and email.
Ensure branded content is embedded into the McLaren Racing content calendar.
Log all partner activations that go out on McLaren Racing’s digital and social channels against their contractual rights.
Help partner managers to adhere to the processes established by the Manager, Branded Content.
Work with the data & insights specialist to build campaign reports following any partner activations, highlighting what worked and any learnings for future campaigns.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Good experience in content planning or agency working with major brands, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and content optimisation strategies.
Impeccable attention to detail and ability to multi-task projects, priorities, schedules, and deliverables.
Excellent written and verbal communicator. You have engaging interpersonal skills and are comfortable working with stakeholders of all levels, including partners.
Strong negotiation skills to manage the expectations of stakeholders during the content planning and delivery process.
Personal Attributes:
A positive, optimistic mindset with a "can-do" attitude
A drive to consistently deliver work to the highest standards.
What can McLaren offer?
We constantly strive to be better tomorrow than we are today. Our ambition is to be the most pioneering and exhilarating racing team in the world, and our collective task is to set the standards for high performance in sport. We show up every day with energy and enthusiasm, ready to play our part.
We encourage and support diversity, equity and inclusion. We will actively promote a culture that values difference and eliminates discrimination in our workplace.
McLaren Racing is based at the iconic McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) near Woking. Here at McLaren, we offer hybrid working with 3 days a week based in the MTC.
Our state of the art, sustainable campus offers many facilities including a gym, restaurant and indoor and outdoor break-out areas, as well as direct access to park and common land.
