The successful candidate will work within our multi-disciplinary team of experts to plan, implement and support PEXA initiatives across multi-AZ and multi region AWS.

Your focus will ensure we uphold the security, resilience and predictability of our services using automated and scalable solutions.

You will also demonstrate a hybrid developer/system-admin skillset allowing you to not only diagnose problems but to fix and mitigate any future occurrences.

This team have a maximum of 30 team collaboration days per year, typically 2-4 days per month. Please only apply if you are happy with this.

Key Accountabilities

Contribute to the design and implementation of PEXA’s automated infrastructure systems
Provide expert guidance to teams to allow them to progress their projects and ensure the creation of robust and scalable applications following industry best practice
Work with Product, Technical and Operations teams at various levels in delivery of the programs of work
Building and maintaining our world-class cloud infrastructure, with key objectives in the areas of automation, availability, scalability and security management
Helping set the technical vision for the delivery of new high-quality products and deliver the best of breed architecture and infrastructure as required
You will work with our team in driving forward the operability of the platform
Mentor intermediate and junior AWS Engineers

Skills & Experience

Advanced knowledge and hands on experience of AWS services, particularly EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFormation, IAM, CloudFront, Lambda, KMS
Experience creating AWS infrastructure as code using tools including CloudFormation and Terraform
Solid skills and experience with scripting languages e.g. Bash, Python and Node.js
Have a good understanding of modern SDLC, CI/CD and automated build and deployment processes
Extensive experience in the industry including experience in DevOps or cloud-based roles
Experience delivering enterprise grade infrastructure systems with all associated monitoring and metrics built-in
Experience collaborating with different parts of the business to deliver programmes of work
Strong understanding of digital & cloud technologies and the broad impact that it has on organisations generally
Strong understanding of new concepts and techniques associated with the creation of digital capability within an organisation
Experience with cloud computing and application development for the Cloud
Knowledge of building and deploying containerized solutions, Kubernetes preferable
