Control Systems Development Engineer
Site Peterborough
Twelve-month contract
£47.05 / hr umbrella
thirty seven hours / week

Hybrid working is possible, 3 days onsite per week minimum – non-negotiable. Tuesday and Wednesdays are set days onsite. 3rd day is discretionary.

37 hours a week.
Monday to Friday 08:30 – 16:45.
HM can be flexible in terms of start and finish times.

Responsible for engine controls and software development for Client’s small and medium diesel, hybrid and electric powertrain programmes. The successful applicant will be involved in the design and development of controls and software for advanced diesel engine controls and / or hybrid systems controls.

Must have
3-5 years minimum experience, but ideally closer to 5 years, maybe more.
Candidate needs to have done model-based development for a controlled algorithm using MATLAB or Simulink. MATLAB, Simulink and Stateflow experience is essential must’ve used it to create Control Algorithms
Crucial experience is candidate being experienced in developing controls for internal combustion engines. Previous experience in engine controls.
Hybrid powertrain tools have transferrable skills.
Great collaboration skills are required.
Understanding of how an engine works is critical
Knowledge of software FMEA and validation plan creation essential as well.
